The Legendary Zing Album

The first ever LP reissue of The Legendary Zing Album, the debut long play from the Philadelphia-based disco/soul outfit The Trammps, released in 1975. The group featured the gospel-influenced lead singer Jimmy Ellis, legendary drummer (and bass singer) Earl Young, who along with his MFSB cohorts, Ronnie Baker and Norman Harris, handled the songwriting and production. The album was mixed by Tom Moulton and spawned three National R&B hits: a remake of the standard "Zing! Went The Strings of My Heart," "Pray All Ye Sinners" and "Hold Back the Night." The album is a Philly soul/ disco classic.
