Deniz Gamze Ergüven writes and directs this crime drama based on the 1992 riots in Los Angeles. After an African American taxi driver is brutally beaten by police officers, the black community decide to fight back with riots taking place all over Los Angeles. As a foster family led by Millie Dunbar (Halle Berry) gets caught up in the violence, Millie seeks help from her reclusive neighbour Obie (Daniel Craig) as she worries about her children getting hurt.
