Cassava Processing and Marketing As Poverty Fighter in Benue State

This book examined the processing and marketing of cassava as poverty fighter in Benue State. The vicious circle of poverty and unbalanced growth theory were reviewed for this study. A survey design was used to obtain cross-sectional data through questionnaires, focused group discussions (FGDs) and oral interviews. The book used descriptive statistics, Foster-Greer-Thorbecke (FGT) Index, Budgetary Analysis, and logistic regression to analyze the data for this research. The book found that cassava processing was done using predominantly traditional technologies but its marketing attracted high level of profit, provided income and employment for operators which helped them in accessing basic needs of life and hence became a strong enterprise for fighting poverty in Benue State, Nigeria.
