MSW is a growing problem. The deposit of MSW in landfill produces leachate, which is considered crucial in groundwater contamination. Leachate percolates to the aquifer through the soil profile bearing organic and inorganic matters, heavy metals and some other contaminants. Soil columns method used for the investigation of the percolation of the MSW leachate to the groundwater through the soil strata. Soil can play role in delaying of the contaminants, but not preventing them from reaching of the groundwater.
