Persian Suns: A Reflective Novel

Persian Suns is a sequel to Persian Moons, while the saga of many conflicted characters gets more complex. Meanwhile, past events are hinted sporadically as needed in order to make Persian Suns a self-contained novel. In particular, the romantic suspense at the end of Persian Moons turns into an intricate conundrum and stirs a variety of clashes in Persian Suns when powerful people set out to avenge various treasons and transgressions. Naturally, Darren Durant remains the locus of the story, while he still strives to find a cordial companion to grasp life together. As usual, he also grapples with a few dramatic decisions with risky consequences. Yet, in Persian Suns, a higher stress is placed on the mixed ordeals of three friends who are the main characters in both novels. In fact, each one of them takes turn to express his thoughts, dilemmas, and preferences for handling the main plots driving the heart of both novels and threatening their lives. They try to bolster their identities and self-images in line with their eccentricities and outlooks, while their reflections augment the story's intricate theme. All along, their precarious fates mingle and stir odd commotions and frictions among them. Still, their friendship gets stronger.

As a reflective novel, the main characters' unique psychological sentiments and reactions, even about the same events, constitute the cornerstone of this novel, while many intriguing incidents keep them baffled and active to solve many skirmishes and soothe their sore spirits. The characters' psychological and philosophical viewpoints demonstrate people's mental efforts and sufferings to cope with their odd dilemmas and duties. Observing humans' varied modes of seeing, thinking, and discussing same topics or events leading to major misgivings and distress is interesting and educational as well. Sadly, our hasty judgments and choices often hinder our communications and cause conflicts and pains in relationships. Accordingly, family relationships have been stressed in these two novels, too, as a general theme for all my writings. Meanwhile, a prolonged pursuit and analyses of these three characters' volatile destinies, as intended in this sequel, add to our understanding of life all by itself.

Yet, Persian Suns is not about any of these stories per se, but rather hundreds of precious moments that engage the three main characters in surreal circumstances. Actually, this novel's finest goal has been to display some very special instances of existence carrying one's spirit beyond its common domain. Many people have encountered similar sentiments or have the capacity and need nowadays to relate to these humanly experiences, such as fatherly emotions during dire situations.

Author's Rendition of a Reflective Novel

The main intention for calling this novel Reflective and offering an explanation has been to give people a better idea about the nature of the book they would be choosing to read. This fiction is a bit unusual due to its special effects noted below, but satiates some readers' taste, while highlighting contentious social issues.

A Reflective novel emphasizes on characters' deep thoughts, reminiscences, and judgments to show their dilemmas, feelings, and motives behind their words and actions. We think, although mostly rubbish, thousand times more than we act or talk usually robotically. So, capturing even a small portion of those thoughts can enhance the depth of a novel substantially if done effectively.
