To escape his monotonous life and the threat of his owner expelling him, Griffin becomes invisible and begins to commit robberies and jokes. Soon, however, Griffin decides he wants to return to normal and begins to try to find a reverse formula. He dresses in costumes and tries to stay at an inn to elaborate the formula, he is left without inn and without his notes, he becomes friends with a vagabond who asks him to help him recover them, but the man leaves running with the notes and Griffin falls into despair and anger. He tries to find the vagabond and in that search finds Kemp, an old friend of the school betrays him and Griffin returns to take revenge.
