The Lost Treasure of the Darien

n 1671 the cut-throat privateer Henry Morgan chopped his way across the Isthmus of Panamá, sacking the Spanish strongholds in the name of his sovereign, King Charles II of England, his country and for booty. As pirates do, Morgan stashed a golden elephant head-shaped chest deep in the Darién rain forest, planning to return one day to collect it. Four hundred years later, the mystical treasure is causing the local Emebrá Indians great misery. After five years in exile in Panamá, Luke Dodge and Dr. Nici's battle with U. S. immigration reaches an epic climax--but not for long. With children dying and the men near insanity, the Emberá chief beckons his old friend Luke Dodge to the rescue. To provide food to the ailing natives, Dr. Nici takes to spearfishing. She proves to be a natural hunter, taking many Pargo, grouper and other exotic fish in the untouched Pacific Ocean waters near the Colombian border. Luke's nemesis, the eco-terrorist Rainbow Pristine, wreaks havoc on Luke at every turn. Both she and the Chinese special-forces will stop at nothing to prevent Luke form returning the treasure to its native land.
