Lucky #19

Jon Smith is an average boy who loves baseball. He recently moved to Boston with his mom and dad. Jon is happy to play Little League and starts off the season as the second baseman for the Boston Bombers. When the starting pitcher breaks his hand, Jon has the chance to step in and pitch, bringing the Boston Bombers to the Massachusetts Championship. Along the way, he wonders if the luck he has on the mound has something to do with his #19 baseball cap. He found it in a cubby in the back of the local hat store. The cap looks nothing like the rest of the team?s caps. It is old and frayed and has the initials C. Y. smudged in the inside. Is the cap really lucky or is Jon really becoming the kind of pitcher he has always wanted to be?
