The Clone Who Loved to Bake Bread (The Nesrady Clones) (Volume 1)

John hadn't known he was a Nesrady Clone until he'd met Aaron, but now at least, he knew that Dr. Escuniti had created them along with others. He still didn't know why.

John woke up in the hospital bed. He didn't need to open his eyes to see the shadow and sparkly people all around the bed.
Aaron said, "Wakey, wakey, Sleeping Beauty. John?"
"Yes?"
"How are you doing?"
"My hands burn."
Aaron said, "Mine too, Brone."
Aaron's hands were burnt like his.
"What happened to us?"
"Some piece of shit called Escuniti ran us through some antique precognition tests."
"Precognition?"
Aaron said, "Yeah, Medic Alma told me that's what they were."

A sparkly shape came through the door to his bed. It got brighter until the buxom medic filled the sparkly shape.
She smiled. "Awake, are we?"
Aaron said, "Is he okay, Alma?"
She whispered, "He's doing a lot better."
He wanted to sleep, but she disconnected the IV from his arm. "All right. Do you need something for the burns, John? Aaron?"
He shook his head, but Aaron held his hands out to her. "They hurt real bad, Medic Alma."
"Come with me, and I'll rub something on them."
Aaron said, "Or I could just rub them on you? I'm sure that would help."
She said, "Not here. With him watching."

Aaron didn't have anything on but a hospital gown. He didn't seem to mind that his erection was showing. He nodded toward a door. "Bathroom? John will watch out for us."
She shook her head, but when Aaron hugged her, she grabbed his naked bottom.
They kissed and held onto each other as they lurched into the bathroom and closed the door.

He still felt nauseous, but he had to find his clothes, and get Aaron out of there. The sparklies were sharp enough now to look like Dr. Escuniti's Security officers, Trucco and McAvoy.
Aaron and Alma were moaning. He knocked on the bathroom door. This was something he was never, never supposed to do, but it was necessary. "Aaron. Aaron! We have to go." He started banging on the door with both fists.
Aaron stuck his head out. "Brone! What the Hell! Somebody better be trying to kill you?"
"Not yet, but the Security officers are coming. We have to get out of this place. Now, Brone. Now!"
"Hush! Give me a minute...three minutes."
"Three minutes."
They didn't have much time, but intercourse was apparently something that shouldn't be interrupted. At two minutes twenty-three seconds, they made the orgasm noises. They were both smiling as they came out of the bathroom.

"We have to get out of here, Aaron. The officers are coming, and they aren't going to let us go."
Aaron kissed Alma. "Is he right?"
She shrugged. "They don't tell me anything around here."
"Alma? Sweet Alma?"
She whispered, "I asked about discharge paperwork for you two, and Escuniti said no."
"Shit."
"They're coming, Aaron. Soon."

The sparkly images of the officers were coming up the hall, but then another shape joined them outside his door. It wasn't so distinct yet.
Aaron smiled at Alma. She shook her head. "Oh, no. I'm not getting involved in this."
Aaron said, "You could just talk to them, Alma."
It was her shape. "She takes them down the hall into the medic's station."
Aaron said, "Just smile at them, Alma. Come on. No one will ever know."
She said, "This is crazy, Aaron. Even if you get off this floor, you won't get out of the building." He kissed her again. "But all right."

Trucco and McAvoy followed her with their bodies swallowing the sparklies and emitting the shadows as they went. He and Aaron ran down the hall. They had to get away from Andropov and Dr. Escuniti.
