A Second Look at First Thessalonians: Rapture

Publisher Marketing: Search the scriptures to see whether these things be so about the rapture. In this book G. L. Parks has diligently searched the scriptures and has allowed the Bible to interpret the Bile and more importantly allowed Paul to interpret Paul. Each has a way of expressing themselves and so did the Apostle Paul. Peter stated that some of the things that Paul wrote were hard to be understood. A few verses should not be taken out of context and an entire belief system designed around those extracted verses. Almost two thousand years after the fact a doctrine was perpetrated in such a manner. That doctrine is the "pre-tribulation rapture" doctrine. The rapture doctrine does not line up with the plan of God for the "earth" as the inhabitants of the planet. The fire that burns this "earth" is not literal but is the same fire that Jesus kindled in Luke 12:49-50. That fire completely burned the elements of the Old Covenant and is presently burning the "earth" in the New Covenant. The New Covenant is simply defined as Christ in you as the hope of glory. If you ascribe to the rapture doctrine as G. L. Parks did for many years, then you must allow the consuming fire (God) to burn your foundation and start building again on a sure foundation. That foundation is not established on a futuristic great tribulation, a coming anti-Christ, an outer space heaven or a flying off the planet. The sure foundation is the understanding of the Christ and His true plan for the planet.
