The enigmatic hermit Mr. Wight has passed away, leaving his fortune to the estranged Mr. Fairlie. Mr. Pinnacle Tricks, Fairlie's assistant, is unceremoniously ushered off to Wight's isolated home in a Northern European forest to resolve the matter of the will.
