The Early Works And Memoirs of a Freelance Writer. Volume I.

IntroductionMark grew up on the East Coast in Southern Maine, the oldest of four children. After graduating high school in 1984 he spent his summer working in the local convenience store until his September date with Army basic training at Fort Knox, KY. After three years as an Army Enlisted member he returned to the civilian work force and attended college part time until completing his Associates Degree in Office Management utilizing various desktop software tools and a backup in networking. Mark also earned his A+ and MCP certifications and worked for a time in his preferred field until the dot.com crash. Mark's first love has always been in the genre of science fiction and fantasy, either in print or television format, sometimes reading as many as 6-8 books a month. After many years of reading, he decided to start writing novels of his own, the first being Dragonstone and self-published on Amazon.com. He has continued his story writing with three more published books and more on the way. Since leaving the army in 1987 he was working mostly with the public in various fields, including retail and call centers. His background includes computer technology, retail sales and the insurance industry assisting clients with policies covering long term care, short and long term disability, critical care and life insurance. Included in this book are early works from the 1990's while attending an English Composition class at college. Some of the assignments were based on events occurring at the time and may not be applicable to current events.
