Ioánna Moúschouri, known professionally as Nana Mouskouri, was born in Chania, Crete, Greece, on October 13, 1934. Her career as a singer includes over 200 albums and singles in 10 different languages, including Greek, French, English, German, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Hebrew, Welsh, Mandarin Chinese and Corsican. She became well known throughout Europe for the song 'The White Rose of Athens', which would mark her first record to sell over one million copies. Presented on this release are two of her early albums: What Now My Love - Nana Mouskouri in New York, produced by Quincy Jones, on which she sings in English, and Nana Mouskouri, which finds her singing in French. The latter includes 'Roses blanches de Courfou', a French version of her aforementioned hit 'The White Rose of Athens', of which the English version has been added as a bonus.
