Thats Life

Now that's life, just like you dreamed of. Hey, it was really great what you accomplished for yourself. Now that you blew it all, what are you going to do? I tell you what; pour yourself a scotch or whatever your drinking pleasure is, spark up a cigar and/or whatever else you may have in your cookie tin, slide this CD in the machine, put your feet up and punch out for an hour. There's nothing like having it all and then losing it, to appreciate having it like you didn't when you had it. Let's face it, it's a hell of a lot easier going down than it is climbing up. Natural, social and economic gravity is always pulling. Then, of course, there are those red hot chicks on hand to light the fuse of destruction. Good evening folks. Thanks for coming out tonight. The A-Train and I have put together a collection of 13 personal favorite classic dance standards and torch songs, along with one original full on dance number for your listening and dancing pleasure. The standards have been re-arranged somewhat to offer yet another interpretation of these monumental songs which have been performed hundreds of times, by as many artists, prior to this release. While my inspirations are many, it is not my intention here to copy anyone. I feel a personal closeness to these songs. I can honestly say that I, as is the case with many others, have lived each one of these songs, at one time or another, throughout my life. It is my desire, however, to showcase these fine songs in a slightly different light and to perhaps inspire reflection and provide comfort during the best and worst times of life past and passing. Sometimes feeling good is a difficult place to get to, and quite often fleeting once you get there, but all in all, feelin' good is the best show in town and well worth the pursuit. This CD is designed to scratch you where it itches. Cheers for now baby.
