His new album contains a unique selection of romantic pieces by Beethoven, Schumann, Kreisler and Wagner. Beethovens songcycle from 1816 "An die ferne Geliebte" was his first song cycle. Liszts, who admired Beethovens work, transcribed this cycle for solo piano in 1849. Schumanns Symphonic Etudes Op. 13 is a set of etudes for solo piano which was dedicated to Schumann's English friend, the pianist and composer William Sterndale Bennett.
