Organometallic Chemistry: Volume 27 - Specialist Periodical Reports

This Specialist Periodical Report aims to reflect the growing interest in the potential of organometallic chemistry.

Publisher Marketing: Organometallic chemistry is an interdisciplinary science which continues to grow at a rapid pace. Although there is continued interest in synthetic and structural studies the last decade has seen a growing interest in the potential of organometallic chemistry to provide answers to problems in catalysis synthetic organic chemistry and also in the development of new materials. This Specialist Periodical Report aims to reflect these current interests reviewing progress in theoretical organometallic chemistry, main group chemistry, the lanthanides and all aspects of transition metal chemistry. Specialist Periodical Reports provide systematic and detailed review coverage of progress in the major areas of chemical research. Written by experts in their specialist fields the series creates a unique service for the active research chemist, supplying regular critical in-depth accounts of progress in particular areas of chemistry. For over 80 years the Royal Society of Chemistry and its predecessor, the Chemical Society, have been publishing reports charting developments in chemistry, which originally took the form of Annual Reports. However, by 1967 the whole spectrum of chemistry could no longer be contained within one volume and the series Specialist Periodical Reports was born. The Annual Reports themselves still existed but were divided into two, and subsequently three, volumes covering Inorganic, Organic and Physical Chemistry. For more general coverage of the highlights in chemistry they remain a 'must'. Since that time the SPR series has altered according to the fluctuating degree of activity in various fields of chemistry. Some titles have remained unchanged, while others have altered their emphasis along with their titles; some have been combined under a new name whereas others have had to be discontinued. The current list of Specialist Periodical Reports can be seen on the inside flap of this volume.

Contributor Bio:  Green, M M. Green teaches at the University of Nottingham. Contributor Bio:  Housecroft, Catherine E "Catherine E. Housecroft" is Professor of Chemistry at the University of Basel, Switzerland. She is the author of a number of textbooks and has extensive teaching experience in the UK, Switzerland, South Africa and the USA. "Alan G. Sharpe" is a Fellow of Jesus College, University of Cambridge, UK and has had many years of experience teaching Inorganic Chemistry to undergraduatesContributor Bio:  Jones, C After being diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, having a stroke, Bells Palsy and just falling apart; I started to feel sorry for myself. I stopped eating, going out and attending any type of social functions. I slept all day and the only thing that I would do was attend medical appointments. My family and friends watched me fall from a successful accountant, accomplished pianist and a fairly good singer with recordings still selling after many years. Now I'm a depressed sick person. One day a friend visited me and brought a poem. I told my friend "I don't do poems. I can't understand them. I need to understand the things that I read." My friend ignored me and began to read a poem entitled, 'And Still I Rise' by Dr. Maya Angelou. I jumped out of the bed and I had to read it for myself, again...and again... Later I heard a song on the radio. It was entitled 'Still I Rise' sung by Yolanda Adams. So I went out and purchased Dr. Maya Angelou's book and Yolanda Adams' CD. Soon I started writing a collection of poems and decided to go all the way and publish them myself.
